Why did you write this book?
“What I’ve enjoyed most throughout my many years as a writer & producer” McDonald says, “…is working with educators- and weaving(pun intended) educational content into entertaining forms of media; I place equal amounts of attention on humor, story and subject matter; because I want kids to want to read it.” McDonald admits that his own curiosity about what went on in all of the many vacant mill buildings- sparked the idea for this book. “…and when I discovered the wonderful textile exhibit at the (Gaston County) museum, filled with early 20th century machinery and visual displays; I knew I had the basis for a time traveling tale that could be both fun and educational; it all came together.”
